Hiroyuki Agetsuma (b. 1978 in Yamagata, Japan) is an artist who uses various mediums to research their personal views on society and  literature.  When it comes to the creative process, in order to sew together the fragments of images that have been collected based on the research, he delves into the images of text, painting, video,  photograhy and recording the sound.To sublimate the story between one’s own body and passion. He desires that through the work, our history which is to come, and the past will be recognized simultaneously, and there will be a fruitful sharing of stories between people.

Agetsuma began engaging in music in his teens, and from 2005 to 2011, he studied in the undergraduate and graduate program of the Department of Intermedia Art at the Tokyo University of the Arts. From 2011 to 2013 he received a scholarship from DAAD to study at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. Currently based in Berlin, he researches between Europe and Japan to create his work.
